ROLE
We are looking for a Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team. You will be responsible for the platform frontend, backend, database, server infrastructure and devops. This will be a hands-on role where you will coding as a full-stack web developer, along with leading the team on architecture and best practices, mentoring and hiring. This position is great for someone with a couple of years of tech lead experience, now looking to step up into a Director role.
You should have extensive experience developing both frontend and backend in our web stack or similar stacks: React, Python, Mongo, AWS. You should have experience in developing e-commerce sites or systems. And you should have experience in architecting complex systems.
This position is based in New York, and will be local in-office after covid.
QUALIFICATIONS
* 5 - 7 years of full stack web development experience, with 2+ years of leading eng teams as tech lead
* Experience developing e-commerce sites or systems
* Experience developing advanced responsive, visual, interactive web-based user interfaces
* Experience with Javascript, Python and React.js, Node.js
* Experience with NoSQL databases like Mongo
* Experience setting and managing infratructure on AWS
* Experience with architecting scaleable, fast performing web apps
* Experience with API design
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines
* Bonus: experience with 3D technologies like WebGL
* BS or MS degree in Computer Science preferred
